Prestigious Used Cars July 14, 2014

In our last post we looked at Used Car Bargains and to illustrate the difference in price between new and used cars, we didn’t go for your classic low end models that would usually be associated with used cars, but instead looked to the likes of the Porsche 911 to illustrate our point. It may not have occurred to you that you can get what many would consider to be prestigious cars for dirt cheap on the used car market, so we thought we would make a list of some of our favourite high end cars that you can get for low end prices.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

Let’s start with a big one. The Rolls-Royce Phantom was originally introduced to the world in 1925 from then it was being produced pretty consistently until 1991 at which point the Phantom went on a 12 year break in production. Thankfully the Phantom was reintroduced to the market in 2003, meaning you can get a pretty good deal on a second hand Rolls-Royce Phantom now. After looking on the web I have seen them going for under £90,000, which is a pretty handsome saving considering the buy it new price.

Land Rover Range Rover Sport

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport has been the car of choice for people of all sorts of careers, from footballers to drug dealers. It is a car that is generally reserved for those with a fair amount of disposable income. However if you have a little look on the web for a second hand Land Rover Range Rover Sport you may be surprised out just how cheap you could get one for. Just a quick search and you will find 2005 models priced around the £10,000 mark and to be honest they haven’t changed all too much since then. In fact I saw a similar ranger rover sport for a similar price  when I was checking out some Used Car Stock in Horsham.

Jaguar X-Type

The Jaguar X-Type is a classic and you will struggle to find anything wrong with it regardless of the model year. Another bonus about buying a used X-Type is that its looks aren’t too dated and the brand alone demands respect. The amount you can get a second hand Jaguar X-Type for is frightening, I saw some online for £575 which is outrageous! I’d pay that just to use it as a feature piece on the drive, well I wouldn’t but you get the picture.

BMW 7 Series

The BMW 7 Series has been in production since 1977 and it has always been a good looking car. The older models will give you a sense of nostalgia and still look pretty good in a retro kind of way and I dare say they are more fun to drive than the newer models. There are many deals to be had in the second hand BMW 7 Series market thanks to its long life. You can get 2007 models for around the £10,000 mark but if you were to go back to the late 90s to the early 2000s in terms of the models, you could be looking at a figure under £1000.
